Pg. #15-25

In the first ten pages of Stephen King's Shawshank Redemption, we find out that the story takes place in a prison called Shawshank Redemption. We were also introduced to our two main characters; Red, and Andy Dufresne. Red is the narrorator of the story, and begins to tell us a bit about himself, and a very key character Andy Dufresne. Red is an inmate at The Shawshank Redemption Prison because he had cut the brakes on his wife's car, intending to kill her. Unfortunately, she picked up her neighbour, and her neighbours child after she left her house, and due to the cut brakes, all three of them died. Red was charged with three counts of murder, and sentanced to three consecutive life sentences. Andy however, is in the prison because he is believed to have shot and killed his wife, and a professional golfer whoom she was cheating on him with, and is charged with two counts of murder, and two consecutive life sentances. Red talkes about the trial in which Andy pleads innocent to the court, jury, and judge but is still sentenced to time in prison. It is currently unknown if Andy actually committed the murders, and I anticipate the truth will be known later in the story. I personally am enjoying the story so far. I like how the story takes place in a prison, and is being told from the prisoners' point of view. It is very interesting to get an inside scoop about what the inmates have to deal with on a daily basis, and what can really go on inside Shawshank Redemption.
